Dr. Yatin Mehta

Dr. Yatin Mehta is a well-known doctor in the department of anesthesiology and critical care at Medanta - The Medicity Hospital, Gurgaon. Dr. Mehta pursued his MBBS from University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi in the year 1976 and MD from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi in 1980. In 1982 he did DNB and FRCA (London) from Queens University Hospital, Nottingham, UK in 1984. Dr. Mehta began his career as a Registrar Anaesthetics at Nottingham Teaching Hospitals, University and City (1983-85). Next he worked as SHO Anaesthetics at Scarborough Hospital, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, U.K from 1982-83. He also worked at Odense University Hospital, Denmark for a period of three years. He was also associated as Senior Consultant and Director in Anaesthesiology and Critical Care department at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi and at Escorts Heart Institute & Research Centre prior to joining Medanta. He holds plenty of awards and recognition to his credit, the major ones being FAMS awarded by the National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in March 2002 followed by FIACTA (Honorary), Fellow in TEE by Indian Association of Cardiovascular Thoracic Anesthesiologists in 2009 and FICCM (honorary) by Indian College of Critical Care Medicine. He also won TEE IACTA in 2011 and FICCM (honorary) Indian College of Critical Care Medicine in the next year. The major areas of expertise are Anesthesia, Pain Management and Critical Care. He had been a regular visitor to the Uppsala Cardiothoracic Department. He has more than 200 publications and 250 presentations at forums. Dr. Yatin has been appreciated for his role as the National Co-coordinator for Dr. Rosenthal’s International Nosocomial Infection Control Consortium (INICC) and possesses plenty of international publications in ICU sepsis. He also worked as Vice President of ISCCM Delhi branch and has been an ISCCM executive committee member for two terms.
