Dr. Umesh Srikantha

Dr. Umesh Srikantha is a Consultant - Neurosurgery & Head - Spine Services in Aster CMI Hospital, Bangalore. Dr. Umesh completed his MBBS from Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli, Karnataka, following which he went on to pursue his M.Ch training in Neurosurgery from National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, Karnataka. After a brief stint as a general neurosurgeon, he started inclining towards the field of spine surgery and underwent training by doing a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery from South Korea. He has attended various training programs on MIS and has also undergone various training in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery and neuro-oncology.  Over the years, Dr. Umesh has gained a special interest in Minimally Invasive Spine surgery, Endoscopic Spine surgery, complex spine surgery, Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery and Neuro-oncology. Due to his compassion for his field, Dr. Umesh has participated in various programs, is an Invited faculty to a number of national and international conferences and has several publications to his credit. He has pioneering cadaver work on minimally invasive spine surgery for the cervical spine and cranio-vertebral junction, which has been successfully applied in clinical practice. Dr. Umesh has also conducted several cadaveric hands-on training courses and trained more than 100 surgeons from all over the country in minimally invasive spine surgery
