Dr. RR Kasliwal, a winner of the prestigious Dr. BC Roy National Award, currently is the Chairman of Clinical and Preventive Cardiology, Heart Institute, Community Outreach and Education at Medanta Medicity in Gurgaon, Haryana. He has more than 30 years of experience in cardiovascular sciences with more than 200 publications, 150+ awards and hundreds of lectures to his credit. He championed the cause of the underprivileged by pioneering the concept of community outreach and took cardiac care to doorsteps of many people. He has guest-edited several books in cardiology and trained many doctors in the nuances of cardiology, both nationally and internationally. Dr. Ravi R Kasliwal’s personality is truly multifaceted and his list of honours makes this evident. His passion, for developing and applying non-invasive techniques for early detection and prevention of coronary artery diseases, is exemplary. He bagged the Lifetime Achievement Award from the President of India in 2008 for his outstanding contribution in the field of Clinical and Preventive Cardiology. He also won the DMA Distinguished Service Award on the 94th Foundation Day of DMA. Before becoming the Chairman of the Clinical and Preventive Cardiology at Medanta, he has been the Director of Cardiology at the Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre in New Delhi, a Senior Cardiologist at the National Heart Institute in New Delhi, and a D.M (Cardiology) and Pool Officer of Cardiology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. Dr. RR Kasliwal is the President of the Indian Society of Medical Fitness and the Vice President of the Indian Society of Echocardiography. He is a well-known member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, Association of Physicians of India, Cardiology Society of India, Indian Society of Medical Ultrasound, and the Indian Society of Electro-Cardiology, Indian Society for Heart Research, and the American Society of Echocardiography. He is an honorary member of the Indore Branch of C.S.I. as well.
