Dr. Hansa Shahi is a renowned Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Therapeutic Endoscopist currently practicing at Columbia Asia Hospital, Palam Vihar; St. Stephen’s Hospital, DLF Phase III and  Doctor’s Hub, Cross Point, DLF Phase IV, Gurgaon as Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Therapeutic Endoscopist. She has done specialization in Digestive disorders, Liver and Pancreatic diseases, Gastro-Intestinal Cancer screening, Preventive Health and Diagnostic & Therapeutic Endoscopy. In the career span of 20 years, Dr, Hansa has performed over 10000 Upper GI diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies including variceal and non-variceal sclerotherapy, band ligation, and glue injection. She has also performed over 3500 Lower GI diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies including polypectomy, band ligation, and other therapeutic procedures. She has independently performed over 800 ERCP procedures including sphincterotomies, stone extraction, stenting and lithotripsy procedures. She started the technique of Intra-operative ERCP with Dr. N K Pandey while at Escorts Faridabad, during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. She has also gained expertise in the management of GI and liver diseases, in both the elective & emergency settings and the outpatient & inpatient settings. She completed her MBBS and post graduation- MD (Medicine) from Grant Medical College, Bombay University following which she did her Post doctoral- DM (Gastroenterology) in 1995 from Sanjay Gandhi PG Institute, Lucknow and Diplomate National Board (Gastroenterology) in 1995 from National Board, New Delhi. Her specialization includes Viral Hepatitis- Screening, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of viral hepatitis, new and emerging therapies for chronic viral hepatitis, particularly hepatitis C and B; non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and NASH- markers of Liver fibrosis and its measurement, treatment of NAFLD and Luminal Gastroenterology- Inflammatory bowel disease, Malabsorption and Diarrhoeal disorders, functional GI disorders including GERD, IBS: Determinants, investigation and treatment.
