Dr. Dinesh Kini is a Director in the Department of Digestive and Hepatobiliary Sciences at Sakra World Hospital, Varthur Hobli, Bangalore. He has over 18 years of experience in his medical field. His area of expertise lies in Liver, Biliary Diseases, RFA (Radio Frequency Abrasion) for Liver Cancer, TIPSS for patients with last stage Liver disorders, Fibroscan for Liver Disease, Stenting for Bile Duct Problems, Spyglass & Holmium Laser Lithotripsy for large Bile Duct Stone. Dr. Dinesh Kini completed MBBS, MD in Internal Medicine from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, DM in Gastroenterology from Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow. Dr. Dinesh Kini has won Gold Medal for Best Ongoing MD - General Medicine Student. There are several articles published in National & International journals to his credit. Dr. Dinesh Kini is one of the physicians who started the concept of Multi-Specialty approach in Gastroenterology with Surgical Gastroenterology/Interventional Radiology. He took an initiative who introduced the concept of “Liver Clinic” as a National CME in Hematology, held once in every 2 years in Bangalore. He is majorly responsible for initiating a liver transplant programme in Manipal Hospital, Bangalore. Dr. Dinesh Kini has been actively associated with various associations such as Indian Association For Study of Liver and Indian Society of Gastroenterology. Prior to working at Sakra World Hospital, he has served as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Manipal Hospital and Head in the Department of Gastroenterology at MILDD, Bangalore.
