Dr. Dhamodaran K

Dr. Dhamodaran K is a Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist in Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road- a Multi super-specialty hospital in the center of Chennai. He is also associated with Sidharam Multispeciality Clinic and Billroth Hospitals (Shenoy Nagar) since 2005, where he is said to perform more than thousand invasive procedures including 250 interventional procedures annually. He has done DM in Cardiology from Madras Medical College and Research Institute (Dr. MGR Medical University) and Postdoctoral Fellowship in National Board (FNB) from Escorts Heart Institute, Delhi where he chose Interventional Cardiology as his specialization. During this period he performed diagnostic procedures such as Coronary / Renal / Carotid / Peripheral Angiograms and Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) studies. He also gained experience in interventional procedures such as complex and multi vessel Angioplasty and Stenting, Primary PCI (in Acute MI), use of devices such as Rotablator, Directional Atherectomy, Thrombectomy devices, cutting Balloon Angioplasty and distal protection devices, Stenting, Valvuloplasties, Device Closures, etc. He is also a Fellow of European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and the Fellow of Society of Coronary Angiography and Intervention (FSCAI) (USA). Due to his focused interest in his field and passion to share his knowledge, Dr. Dhamodaran has several of his articles/papers published in national level medical journals and has also presented scientific papers at the Cardiological Society of India (CSI – 2000, 2001, 2003) annual meetings.
