Dr. Balaji V is a consultant Vascular Surgeon associated with Apollo Hospitals, Greams Lane, Chennai with 28 years of experience. He has a special interest in lower limb revascularization, carotid endarterectomy under regional anesthesia, endoscopic venous surgery for venous insufficiency and complex angio access surgery for haemodialysis. Dr. Balaji V has completed his undergraduate and post graduate surgical training medical education at Madras Medical College, Chennai, in 1986 and 1989 respectively. On successful completion of the same, he left for the United Kingdom for further higher surgical training. He then obtained FRCS from Royal college of Surgeons of England in 1989 and FRCS from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in1990. His training in U.K included various aspects of vascular surgery and Transplantation surgery. In 1997 he was the first overseas candidate to obtain FRCS from Inter Collegiate Board of Royal Colleges. Dr. Balaji V possesses a work experience of more than 12 yrs at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai. And, has spent 10 yrs in U.K and USA undertaking a fellowship training in endo-vascular surgery clinics in Cologne, Germany. He has also, authored and co-authored more than 25 publications in general, vascular and transplantation surgery in various international journals.
