Dr. Asha Mahilmaran

Dr. Asha Mahilmaran is a Senior Interventional Cardiologist practicing in Apollo Hospitals, Greams Lane, Chennai for more than a decade. Besides Apollo, she can also be consulted at AM Cardiopulmonary Care Clinic located in the Washermanpet area of the city. Dr. Asha completed MBBS from Coimbatore Medical College in 1990, MD - General Medicine from Madras Medical College, Chennai in 1993 and DM from Madras Medical College, Chennai in 1999. She excelled throughout her academics and was a gold medallist in Medicine and Cardiology. Prior to Apollo Hospitals, she was associated with the MV Diabetes and Research Centre, a WHO recognized center for diabetes as a Chief Consultant Cardiologist. Dr. Asha Mahilmaran has a vast experience in interventional cardiology, especially in ACS (acute coronary syndrome) and primary PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention - angioplasty). She has performed over 15,000 preventive heart checks and has an expertise in performing angiograms, angioplasty, and balloon mitral procedures.
