Dr. Abhay Nene

Dr. Abhay Nene has an experience of 16 years in his field. In the course of his career, he has been the recipient of various international awards. Most of his forays overseas have been centered on gaining expertise in the field of spine surgery in centers of great repute in centers across Germany, The United States of America, United Kingdom and Singapore. Awarded a fellowship by the Spine Foundation in 2001 Spine surgeries - Spinal deformity corrections, spinal tumor reconstructions, surgery for spinal infections, reconstructive surgery for osteoporotic fractures, cervical spine instrumentation, occipito cervical spine surgery. He is currently the National Chairman of the respected AO Spine India organization and the Secretary of Bombay Spine Club. He is also a Consultant - Orthopaedics at Lilavati Hospital, Bandra. Dr Abhay Nene’s area of expertise include Minimal access procedures - endoscopic and microdiscectomy, nucleoplasty, thoracoscopy , vertebroplasty; Contemporary surgeries - Disc replacement surgery, growing rod surgeries including rib expansion, and computer navigated spine surgery; Paediatric spinal surgeries - scoliosis correction, early onset spinal deformity correction in infants, surgeries for congenital atlantoaxial subluxations, varied forms of childhood spinal TB and congenital scoliosis; Sports injuries of the spine. Dr. Abhay Nene, an alumnus of Jaihind College, passed out in 1989 and joined the T N Medical college, to graduate as a medical doctor, and later completed his post-graduate training in Orthopaedic Surgery. He also has many accolades in his bag, he received ASSI-Dartmouth Spine Fellowship; Scoliosis Research Society Scholarship and ISSLS Spine Fellow Award.
