The Shanti Mukand Hospital, popularly known as SMH, is a comprehensive medical center which provides all medical and surgical specialties. SMH has the biggest Cancer Facility in East Delhi, offering latest Oncology and Radiological services. This segment of the hospital was set up in 2006, in collaboration with the Health Care Group (HCG) a Bengaluru based organization and was named SMH Curie Cancer Centre. Today this department of SMH has South Asia's largest Cancer Center network and has successfully treated thousands of patients with the latest and most effective Cancer treatment procedures. SMH Curie Cancer Centre has emerged as a premier Cancer Care Hospital with state-of-the-art technology in Surgical, Medical & Radiation Oncology also providing Psycho-Oncology & Rehabilitation facilities. This center has 70 dedicated beds for cancer patients, an 8-bedded CCU including two isolation beds, two advanced operation theatres and a well-equipped recovery room. The Radiation Oncology Department, of this centre, is the first in North India to have a new generation Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) machine with a “Mega Voltage Cone Beam CT”, capable of delivering sophisticated treatments like 3D Conformal Therapy and Intensity Modulated Radio Therapy. The Medical Oncology Department offers customized Multi-modality Therapies and specializes in Outpatient and Ambulatory Chemotherapy. With state-of-the-art facilities, SMH help cancer patients live longer and fuller lives. At SMH, the clinicians work together in interdisciplinary teams to care for the person as a whole and offer a wide spectrum of specialty programmes for both adults and children coping with cancer. The Surgical Oncology Department is well-equipped to treat tumors of various origins.
